MOL launches car-sharing service Limo

Budapest, 2018. január 25. Autók a MOL Limo közösségi autómegosztó szolgáltatás bemutatóján a Kopaszi-gát Öbölházában 2018. január 25-én. Budapesten 200 benzines és 100 elektromos jármûvel indult a szolgáltatás, a Mol elektromos töltõhálózatot is épít. A Mol Limo 60 négyzetkilométeren a fõváros 10 kerületére terjed ki, az autók parkolásáért a felhasználóknak nem kell fizetniük. Minden megosztott használatú jármû 5-10 magántulajdonút vált ki, ami csökkentheti a forgalmat és a parkolási területet, ezzel több területet hagy meg a városok lakóinak és hozzájárul a légszennyezés mérsékléséhez. Oil and gas company MOL on Thursday launched its car-sharing service MOL Limo in ten districts of Budapest within an area of 60 square kilometres with 200 petrol and 100 electric cars.

Péter Ratatics, director of consumer services within MOL Group, said the service is available in the city centre and more frequented outer districts.

Fees cover parking costs, and electric vehicles can be charged at MOL’s petrol stations, he said, adding that a car-sharing vehicle can replace 5-10 private ones.

MOL plans to double the number of Limo cars by 2020 and extend the service to the entire area of Budapest. Liszt Ferenc International Airport could be added to the system as early as 2019.

In a few years petrol cars will be removed from the service.

Ratatics did not say how much MOL was investing in Limo or what returns it is expecting, citing business confidentiality.

MOL also helped launch in the autumn of 2014 Budapest’s bike-sharing system dubbed “MOL BuBi” and the company still continues to cover more than half of the running costs.
